Simon Eriksen Valvik, was born in Ecuador, but adopted to Norway three months old. When his loving Norwegian mother sadly died of cancer, he felt the desire to contact his biological parents. In this process he found out that his adoption papers was forged, and that he most likely was kidnapped.
In 1989 an “adoption scandal” was revealed in Ecuador. Several stories about children that were kidnapped from markets and farms, and thereafter sold for a good profit to other countries was published in the news. The same year a well-known lawyer was arrested by the police and prisoned with charges of kidnapping and forgery. He was suspected to have contributed to that dozens of kidnapped children was sold for adoption to other countries. The same lawyer forwarded 13 Ecuadorian children to Norway. Simon was one of them.
After Simon’s adoptive mother died three years ago of cancer, he felt the desire to meet his biological parents. When he finally found the woman that had signed the adoption papers as his biological mom, she said she was not his mother and that they were not related. She had falsely signed the papers given by the lawyer, only 18 years old, being told that she would help a child to a better life in another country. After this, all tracks about Simon’s origin stops up!
Despite that this woman, falsely signed the adoption papers, Simon do not bear grudge against her. Though he mean it was wrong, at the same time, he mean that she signed a lottery win for him. Though he really love his Norwegian family, he just want to send a message to his biological parents saying: “Hey, I’m alive and I’m fine.”
