London have much to offer, and the tourists are flocking to what is recently crowned the most popular city in the world. However, not everyone are agreeing that the victory is well deserved.
London Eye. Tower of London. Madame Tussauds. Musicals. Notting Hill. Shopping. Buckingham Palace. These are just some of the various things London have to offer. So maybe not weird that the tourists are flocking to visit the city?
Paris was number one on the most-visited-cities-list before. Now that London have taking their place, many Parisians protests. They claim that London aggressively sells itself in a way that goes beyond the truth in their new video campaign: The London Story.
Furthermore, they argue that them as Parisians are more rational in our communication when speaking about Paris’s strengths. However, are they? Then maybe not so many would suffer the Paris syndrome?
Non-dependent on who sells their city in the best manners, the Office of National Statistics, confirm, that London was the most visited city in the world in 2013. And it is still estimated to be so in 2014. Followed by Paris, Bangkok, New York, and Singapore.
That being said, others argue that London just won due to a long and hot summer. The Olympics from the year before and the birth of Prince George can take the credit for the victory, furthermore they claim.
Personally, I love London. If it is the greatest city in the world, is another question.
What do you think? Do London deserve the crown as the most popular destination for tourists in the world?
