This post is dedicated to some of the special persons I have met around the world. People that have taught me valuable lessons and inspired me. That means a lot to me and are always with me in my heart, no matter where I find myself in the world.
During my travels, I have met many amazing persons. So this is just the first post dedicated to some of these people. There are still so many that deserve a recognition.
Abi is one of the strongest women I have ever met. She raised all her three children alone, without support from her husband or family. Despite not having a lot of money, she never complain and worked hard for send her children to school. She also is very giving with the little she has, and invited me food all the time when I was in Nigeria.
She left her husband that treated her very bad, without worrying about what the society would say. As in Nigeria, it is not social accepted to be a single mom. A big inspiration, for many and a prove on that women can be independent and do not need to depend on a man! You might not be able to live in luxury, but you will always survive with hard work. Abi is a beautiful person very close to my heart.
My dear friend Martina, is one of the kindest persons I have ever met. I have never heard her say a bad word about anyone. She is an inspiring person for me in many ways, as I strive to be as kind as her. She has taught me to be patient, listen and always good to other people, no matter what, even if they do you bad! She always forgive and wish the best for everyone!
Martina is one of my best friends, and I know she is always there for me. Even if we live in different continents (she is now in Ghana). But the years I have known her she has always left everything to be there and support me in hard times. Just the kind of good friend I strive to be as well!
My dear husband – you have taught me so much! Maybe the most important to always believe in myself! You were the one that made me believe that I could take the responsibility of be in charge and the director for a whole foundation. You were the one that made me believe I could succeed with this blog. You are always there for me to help me reach my dreams and goals. If I doubt you are always there with some encouraging and motivating words. Without you, I would not be where I am today. I love you so much, mi vida!
Håkon and Jane, Norway
The best parents in the world! They have though me everything worth to know. You have made me, me! But maybe the most important is to know that I always have a home where you are. I always have your support no matter what. No matter where I am, I can always come home or call for some comforting words. You are always there for me. Thank you so much for that! And thank you so much for letting me follow my dreams and travel the world. But home is always where you are, and I hope to be there with you again soon!
Ok as you can see Chico is not a person! But my cute little puppy dog, which had a horrible accident two week ago, and almost died. Though I already knew, this reminded me that things can change fast. From one second to another, so better cherish every moment you have with the people you love.
He have still three weeks left before he can take of his plaster, and I just needed to dedicate this place to my baby dog here as I feel so sorry for him. But also because he has a BIG place in my heart.
This is a wonderful woman, which always reminded me on how special I am. When I left the country she gave me some gifts. One of them was a beautiful 100 % silk scarf. When she gave it, I told her: “But that is too much! It must have been very expensive”. “Nothing is too expensive for someone as precious as you”, was her response!
Saanvi is always giving, and loving against everyone. She is a true and good role model for everyone around her.
Rogers and Esther, Uganda
Esther and Rogers, are two very inspiring persons and good friends of mine. They both come from poor areas in Uganda, especially Rogers. When I visited his home-town it was a village without anything. He is the first one from the village to take higher education. Both Esther and Rogers are very intelligent and work hard, and that is why they won a grant to study their Mater degree in Norway. Esther furthermore won a grant for taking a doctor degree afterwards. They are both living proves that everything is possible, no matter which background and situation you come from.
The wonderful thing about travelling is that you meet so many wonderful people, that you would not meet if you just stayed at home. Though it is very hard to say goodbye to these people when you leave, they are always there with you in your heart. Are there some inspiring and special persons you have met on your travels that you would like to mention and give a recognition?
