Do you visit many webpages before booking a trip? Searching for cheap flights and hotels. Reading about the destination and what is worth to see? In average we visit as much as 38 travel sites before booking a vacation, study founds.
I do actually not consider myself as a very good planner when it comes to vacations. But now my husband and I are planning our next trip. And I noticed how much time I actually used while searching for the cheapest flight tickets and the better options to get there.
I searched for get an overview of how much the hotels costs (though we might just find one at arrival like I usually do, it is fine to get an overview). I have also been reading a little bit about the history of the place we are going.
In the end it ended up with that I visit pretty many web-sites. And I am not alone visiting a lot of sites before booking a trip. As already mentioned, in average, we visit 38 travel sites. And we do so up to 45 days leading up to the booking, Expedia Media Solutions found in their study.
I never think I have used a much as 45 days searching online before I have booked a trip. Like this time, I used 5 days. And often I book my flight right before my travels, as I decide to go just a few days before. Maybe this because I am not the best planner in the world.
However, before booking our flights yesterday, I most likely visited near to 38 sites.
