Have you ever experienced travelling together with someone, but on the flight you are put on seats far apart from each other? On my last trip this happened on three of the flights my husband and I were taking.
I need to write this because I am pretty upset. If you travel with your family and book your tickets together, you expect to sit together. But the flight companies often give you seats far apart from each other. This for you to pay extra for sit together. Or pay for reserve your seat next time you travel with them.
However, I do not want to pay extra for this. Just because on all the flights where they put us a part there where seats for sit together. So that there was no space, was not the reason. Money was.
On the last flight there was almost no people. There where free roads of seats. But we were put on different roads with one person traveling alone next to each of us. Makes sense? In the road with seats between us there were no passages sitting.
Though, all the times we were put a part we asked people to change seats, asked the person behind the counter to change, or sit where there where free seats, so we got to sit together anyway. But what annoys me is more the focus the airlines have of money more than service. Because, if they do this so that next time we will pay for reserve seats so that we can sit together, I want to tell them that there will be no next time. I will never take that airline again. Never again, I will take LAN airline that did this. So actually it can be that they lose more than they earn doing this.
And it is not the first time this happens with me. When we were travelling to Ireland when I was a child, we went with Ryanair. They split the whole family up. Not considering that my sister and I were just children. This happens a lot with families with children travelling, and parents are forced to pay extra for sit with their kids.
However, after that day, my family said, Ryanair, never again! And I know many that have said the same. Not just because this of the seats, but also due to bad treatment, and for having to pay a lot extra for luggage. So with all of this you end up with paying as much as with a good company, which put people that travel together – together.
Have you ever been split on a flight with your travel companion? Would you pay extra for sit together?
