Maybe you sometimes feel like you cannot afford to travel far away. Or maybe you have obligations like work that stops you from doing so. But the truth is that you do not need a lot of time, money or equipment to have an adventure.
You do not need to take a flight to the other side of the earth to have an exciting time. Microadventure is the new thing! It is a way of fitting adventures into busy lives. They are cheap, simple, short experiences that for example fit into a weekend – or even a day.
I have personally doing several microadventures the last months. As I have been working a lot – I currently have five jobs. And I just bought an apartment, there have been no time or money for travel far away the last month.
Two weekends ago, I went fishing with husband and my cousin. We did not get any fish – but it was still a beautiful day and it was interesting to do something again that I have not been doing for ages.
I few weeks ago, I also was in Oslo with my family for a Bob Dylan concert.
Not too long ago – we went and picked mushrooms and blueberries in the forest. For thereafter cook and eat a delicious meal made of it when we got home.
We also had a day-trip to the southernmost point of Norway – Lindesnes.
One day we had a boat trip out to see the islands around Søgne and we have several times went bicycling to new places in the nearby area.
I also had another weekend trip to Oslo, where we by others went to the Munch museum, the Royal Castle and Vigelands parken.
We went to the tall ship races – where we got to visit and see ships from all over the world.
And we had a weekend in our cabin, where we went to the top of the mountain and slided down on sledges. Super fun!
This is just to mention some of the microadventures I have been having the last couple of months. And many more there will be until I travel abroad next time. What fun microadventures have you been doing lately?
